ISPOR/AMCP Holds Annual Etiquette Dinner

The ISPOR/AMCP student chapter at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy held its annual Etiquette Dinner at the Michigan League on November 18, 2014. As one of the marquee student run events held at the College of Pharmacy, the event was attended by the Deans of the College, in addition to over 60 faculty and students in both PharmD and PhD programs.
U-M Pharmacy Students Attend APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting 2014

The Kentucky Derby theme may have been what originally piqued our curiosity, but it was the professional growth and networking that made the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) Midyear Regional Meeting (MRM) truly memorable. The weekend was packed with a variety of activities, including leadership and advocacy workshops, chapter showcase roundtables, and a policy debate.
Student APhA-ASP Members Participate in 2014 UMHS World Diabetes Day Health Fair

Fourteen student pharmacists from the U-M College of Pharmacy’s American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Students (APhA-ASP) participated in the University of Michigan Health System’s World Diabetes Day Health Fair. This event took place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel. The event offered free health screenings for patients, presentations, and informational booths discussing all of the different types of diabetes.
Phi Delta Chi - Alpha Chapter: Through the Looking Glass, Fall 2014

From learning about networking and the ins and outs of professional attire to infectious diseases trivia, this semester the committees of Phi Delta Chi have been hard at work organizing programs designed to equip U-M College of Pharmacy students with the tools they need to succeed in both the classroom and in the real world of pharmacy. Highlights include the CV workshop and the annual Bug Drug Trivia.
SNPhA Student Chapter Participates in COTS Health Fair

For the fourth consecutive year, the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy's Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) chapter collaborated with Wayne State University's SNPhA chapter to educate residents about diabetes, HIV/AIDS, asthma, healthy lifestyles, smoking cessation, and medication management.

Each year, UM-HSP hosts a professional development event, with the goal to further the education of members about health-system pharmacy, as well as facilitate relationships between student pharmacists and other professionals. The 2013-2014 professional development event hosted by UM-HSP was “Mentoring in a Moment.”
APhA-ASP Partnership Provides Health-Related Education to Community

On September 30, 2014, several members of American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) at the University of Michigan volunteered with Community Action Network (CAN) to provide education regarding exercise and self-treatment of sports injuries to children living in nearby Ann Arbor neighborhoods.
