Experience the Rho Chi Shadow Program

The Rho Chi Shadow Program was established in 2013 by the Rho Chi Honor Society to promote career exploration and foster professional networking by offering P1, P2, and P3 students a one day shadow experience in their area of interest. Thanks to our dedicated alumni and preceptors, students may explore numerous pharmacy practice settings ranging from community pharmacy to clinical pharmacy to nontraditional pharmacy.
2014-2015 Leadership Scholars Program

To nurture leadership skills in PharmD students, the College of Pharmacy sponsors a Leadership Scholars Program (LSP). LSP is a co-curricular educational program that recruits PharmD students based upon three criteria: demonstrated leadership in College life; academic record; and poise and clarity during the rigorous interviewing process. P4 Pledge Drive Students Receive Forever Go Blue Award

It is our pleasure to congratulate College of Pharmacy P4 Pledge Drive Committees of the past 10 years as recipients for the Forever Go Blue Award in Student Philanthropy within the University of Michigan. Over the last decade, our students have pledged nearly $700,000 to support P3 and P4 scholarships. Students from the 2014 P4 Committee accepted the award on behalf of that past decade’s worth of committees at the university-wide Michigan Difference Student Leadership Award Ceremony on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Pharmacy 476: Principles of Research and Problem Solving

Pharmacy 476 is a 2-credit, P2 year course. This introductory course in research and proposal writing is designed to give students an overview of scientific study design and experience in hypothesis and specific aims development. This year's poster presentations took place at Palmer Commons on April 21, 2014. A special thanks to Dean Ascione and Dr. Bruce Mueller for their support.
Stephanie Burke Selected as 2013 Paul Ambrose Scholar; Presented at APhA Public Health Forum

Stephanie Burke, PharmD'16, was selected as one of the 2013 Paul Ambrose Scholars. With this, she was invited to speak at the Pharmacy Planning Services, Inc. public health breakfast forum in conjunction with the American Pharmacists Association's annual conference in Orlando, FL on March 30, 2014. Ms. Burke presented her experience in the program.
Mary Rothermal Finishes in Top Ten at 2014 National APhA Patient Counseling Competition

Mary Rothermal, PharmD’16, was a Top 10 finalist in the National APhA Patient Counseling Competition. "There were over 120 students competing. Kristina Brooks Selected as Scholar for 2014 AACP Walmart Scholars Program

Kristina Brooks, PharmD’15, has been chosen as a scholar for the 2014 AACP Walmart Scholars Program. The goal of this scholarship program is to strengthen the recipient’s skills and commitment to a career in academic pharmacy through participation in programming and activities at the 2014 AACP Annual Meeting and Seminars.
UM-HSP Students Raise Money for Relay for Life; Hosted Third Annual Art Auction

The University of Michigan Health System Pharmacists Student Organization hosted their third annual art auction, which included students, faculty, staff, friends, and family. This year, the event also welcomed alumni. The students raised $4,800 for Relay for Life, a 60% increase over last year’s donation. A special thanks goes out to the U-M Men’s Glee Club for their performance, Campus Inn for the hospitality, the Wine Castle for their donations, Richard Walls, PharmD’14, for hosting the live auction, artwork donors, faculty & staff for their attendance, and all those who volunteered to make this event such a success!
ISPOR/AMCP Faculty Networking Auction Supports Relay for Life

For its fourth year, the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy Faculty Networking Auction has proven to be a huge success. This year’s auction raised nearly $5,500 – all of which was donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Fundraiser. This amount surpasses the earnings from 2013 by over $600 and is nearly double the amount initially brought in by the event when it was first introduced in 2011.
