- About the College
We help you make informed decisions about the discovery, development, and refinement of therapeutics.
Explore the ways we can work together:
Mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis of drug/compound concentration in biological specimens. We developed assays to measure over 2300 compounds, including several commercially available drugs. We work closely with the Center for Discovery of New Medicines to accelerate drug discovery.
Microsomal Stability, Metabolite ID, Protein Binding, Blood/Plasma Ratio. Drug Metabolism studies, including Enzyme Identification, Inhibition, and Induction. We work closely with the Vahlteich Medicinal Chemistry Core to support lead optimization projects.
We perform oral bioavailability, pharmacokinetic, and biodistribution studies in animal models. We access state-of-the-art facilities at UM In Vivo Animal Core to facilitate healthy and disease models for a range of drug discovery and development efforts.
We assist with design of early phase clinical trials that involve assessment of exposure-response relationships. We collaborate with investigators who access resources offered through UM Institute for Clinical and Health Research.
Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) is label free MALDI-MSI technology to visulize the location of known or unknown molecules on tissue sections. Therefore, this technology can be used to image any potential molecules (without need for labeling) to study cancer cell heterogeneity, tumor microenvironment, metabolism, biomarker identification, drug distribution.
