In the summer of 2023, PC3 brought its first-ever cohort to campus from May 31st to August 5th, 2023. As a participant in PC3, students commuted to the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus for 10 weeks during the summer. PC3 offered them:

  • Stipend of $6,000
  • Academic advising
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring
  • Job shadowing and career exploration
  • Student-led, non-credit coursework
  • and more fun activities with their cohort!

Check out this webinar for more information about PC3 by Dr. McClinton. (Note: In the webinar, we talk about the Go Blue Gaurantee and say that students require a 3.5 GPA or higher to qualify. This is not required for the UM-Ann Arbor campus.)

Eligibility

The Pharmacy Community College Connect program is for students from Tribal and Community Colleges that share geography with the state of Michigan.

Application

Before applying, we encourage you to look at what information, questions, and materials are required within the application process.

The PC3 program is not currently accepting applications for the 2024 cohort.

The application will ask for a variety of information about yourself, including but not limited to:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Citizenship
  • Race/Ethnicity
  • Contact Information

In order to complete the application, you must submit a college transcript. It is best to have this ready before starting the application, and it must be submitted as an attachment in the application.

An unofficial college transcript copy is best, and can be in a file format or as a screenshot. If you have questions about how to get access to your unofficial college transcript, speak with your advisor. If you have questions, please email pharmacy.pc3@umich.edu.

If you have attended multiple colleges or universitiesyou will need to submit a transcript for each one.

There will be two open-ended response questions.

Personal Essay: In at least 3 paragraphs, reflect on and address the following:​

  1. Your current program of study and academic/professional goals
  2. How PC3 relates to your current goals and why you wish to participate in the program
  3. Reflect on at least one of the following:
    • What exposure have you had to the field of pharmacy? Has that exposure influenced you?
    • What unique skills, qualities, or life experiences would you bring to the health professions?
    • What would be your goals as a health professional?

Extracurricular Activities: Please share with us any extracurricular activities that you are a part of (e.g., sports, hobbies, organizations).
