Arab American Pharmacist Association
The Arab American Pharmacist Association at the University of Michigan was founded in 2020. Our student chapter falls under the parent branch located in Dearborn, Michigan. We are a community-orientated, non-profit organization. AAPA’s purpose is to implement community outreach and educational services in our local communities. Our events include health screenings, volunteering at free clinics, hosting flu clinics, translation services and career fairs/mentoring at high schools. We are also building a pharmacist-student mentoring program, which will give students the unique opportunity to be paired with a pharmacist in different specialties. Lastly, AAPA was founded to build a sense of community, and that community begins within our College. We hope to plan social events within the College of Pharmacy and other graduate student organizations. This will give students the opportunity to meet new people on campus and build lifelong relationships.
The mission of AAPA is to develop and implement outreach programs and provide educational services within our local communities.
The AAPA is a community-oriented, non-profit organization. The student chapter will coordinate numerous events throughout the school year, consisting of community outreach, health clinics, educational events, service opportunities, and fundraisers. Any money raised will be either donated to underserved clinics or communities in Michigan, or will be used to fund supplies for our outreach programs.
