Expectations of Faculty Mentors

Collegiate Fellowship Mentors will be tenured or tenure track faculty who will:

• Take an active role in helping the fellow to plan and achieve his/her research goals

• Take an active role in connecting the fellow with the lab, the community of postdoctoral fellows within the CoP and University, and with the community as a whole

• Assist the fellow with establishing a visible presence in the department

• Facilitate opportunities for the fellow to participate in national and international research meeting

• Assist the fellow in seeking opportunities to present papers or to interview for faculty positions at UM and beyonAttend the program’s professional development activities

• Make appropriate arrangement for space and other necessary resources
