Informatics

Established in 2018, the Pharmacy INformatics Group (PING) at the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy aims to be the internationally recognized leader in pharmacy informatics research. We are a team of pharmacist-scientists who have expertise from across the informatics continuum, including data-driven analytics, software and technology development, data infrastructure, pharmacy practice, and implementation science!

We meet monthly to engage in lively discussions regarding the opportunities and challenges facing pharmacy informatics. We're also in the process of establishing a research and education agenda outlining the future of pharmacy information systems and its impact on pharmacist work. We believe that pharmacists ability to ask important research questions, work with all types of data, and use that data to inform healthcare decision-making will be essential to the future work of pharmacists in improving population health outcomes.
