The University of Michigan and the Michigan Pharmacists Association have announced the release of new standards published on mipedscompounds.org as part of a sweeping campaign to educate prescribers and pharmacists in the state and rest of the country. Associate Dean James Stevenson is project leader for this initiative.
Dr. Gordon Flynn Creates Landmark Publication on Drug Delivery

Professor Emeritus Gordon Flynn, PhD, and his wife, Beverly, endowed the Gordon and Beverly Flynn Scholarship in 2009 to assist students at the College of Pharmacy where Flynn, now an emeritus faculty member, was a member of the pharmaceutical sciences faculty from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. Flynn, PhD. “It needs a publisher.” That’s a succinct summary of the situation with Physical and Biophysical Foundations of Pharmacy Practice – Issues in Drug Delivery, the textbook that Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a colleague spent 13 years producing. Now he faces the prospect of spending even more time getting it delivered to its audience.

Dr. William Higuchi Receives Honorary Degree

Dr. William Higuchi, professor emeritus of pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Utah and a former U-M faculty member from 1962-82, received an honorary degree from the University of Michigan at its winter commencement on December 15th. Higuchi is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to the science of drug formulation and delivery.
