"We enjoyed hosting our colleagues from Peking University Health Science Center and the Peking University First Hospital. They were here for a whirlwind tour of the Colleges of Pharmacy at Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Michigan. While here for the day they visited with Professor Janice Stumpf in the morning to learn how our Drug Information Center supports the needs of the UM Health System. Next they visited with Brian Callahan, PharmD'95, to discuss the roles of clinical pharmacists and clinical faculty members in the provision of patient care and PharmD student education. U-M PGY-2 Pharmacy Resident Twisha Patel and Professor Rima Mohammad gave a tour of the hospital. Finally, they met with Professor Steve Erickson to discuss his pharmacy outcomes research and how collaborative research could be done like this in Beijing," states Dr. Mueller.

The U-M College of Pharmacy will be sending our first two P4 students for rotations to Beijing later this Fall for an international Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotation. Our students will be visiting the Peking University Health Science Center with specific patient care experiences at the Peking University Third Hospital.

We expect to share our students’ APPE experiences when they return!
