Dr. John S. Clark Named MSHP President-Elect
John S. Clark, PharmD, MS, BCPS, FASHP, has been named president-elect of the Michigan Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP). He will be installed as present-elect at the MSHP annual meeting on October 27. Dr. Clark will serve a 3-year term as president-elect (2018), president (2019), and past president (2020).
Dr. Clark teaches, practices, and researches in the area of pharmacy practice management and leadership. He is the director of the Department of Pharmacy Services at Michigan Medicine and clinical assistant professor at the U-M College of Pharmacy. Additionally, Dr. Clark is the PGY-1 pharmacy residency director. He is responsible for precepting pharmacy students and residents in pharmacy practice management and leadership.
Dr. Clark has been very active in pharmacy professional organizations throughout his career. He served as president of the Maryland Society of Health System Pharmacists in 2007. He has also served the American Society of Health System Pharmacists in several capacities – most notably on the Commission on Credentialing from 2010-2015.
MSHP represents Michigan Pharmacists Association members practicing in ambulatory care and health-system pharmacy settings. MSHP advocates for the value of pharmacist contributions to patient care, provides educational support in preparing pharmacy practitioners, and develops model standards for patient-focused care, among many other important initiatives.
