College Alumna Recognized for Educational Excellence
Rachel Eyler, PharmD’08, was named the Teacher of the Year and Preceptor of the Year by the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. After earning her PharmD from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, Dr. Eyler accepted a residency at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor. She continued her training with Bruce Mueller, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, and Clinical Pharmacist, U-M Health System, in a 2 year postdoctoral position.
Dr. Elyer currently serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut and practices at Yale New Haven Hospital. The School of Pharmacy selected her as the 2014 Preceptor of the Year. Selection for the Preceptor of the Year award is based upon nominations from the P4 pharmacy class. Preceptors are chosen for their outstanding contributions to the educational development of future pharmacists and by demonstrating high standards of professionalism, ethics, and clinical practice. Dr. Eyler was again recognized with the 2015 Teacher of the Year award, which is nominated by the Doctor of Pharmacy graduating class.
“I am extremely proud to see Rachel’s achievements recognized by the University of Connecticut,” says Dr. Mueller. “She was a pleasure to work with as a postdoc, and I am happy to see her move on to such success in her career.”
