Teaching Initiatives
Pharmacy students offer blood pressure and blood glucose screening services on a monthly basis at Cranbrook Tower, a low-income apartment building for older adults in Ann Arbor. Participating in these events provides students the opportunity to learn how to engage with community members via trained medical interpreters. This program is led by Caitlin Ferguson and Sarah Vordenberg.
Faculty from the College of Pharmacy and Michigan Medicine Department of Social Work partner with Arbor Housing Commission to offer monthly health events at the Baker Commons and Lurie Terrace apartment buildings. Pharmacy and social work students collaborate to conduct blood pressure and blood glucose screenings and to provide education about high blood pressure, diabetes, and other health-related topics. This program is led by Sarah Vordenberg from the College of Pharmacy and Feyisetan (Feyi) Adunbi and Nora Rosenblum from the Department of Social Work.
