Dean Nancy Mason Retires After 32 Years of Service
The College of Pharmacy came together to celebrate the achievements of Dean Nancy Mason as she transitioned into retirement. The college hosted a lunch where students were invited to ask questions, offer thanks, and say goodbye to Dean Mason. “I can honestly say there wasn’t a day in 32 years that I didn’t want to come to work, because I loved my job and I loved working with you”, she exclaimed, “What a blessing to be able to say that!”
Dean Mason began her career at the college in 1988 as a faculty member teaching anemia in therapeutics, clinical skills, and taking students on APPE rotations. Initially, she was working part-time but soon assumed the position of Director of Experiential Education for seven years. She plans to take a trip to Norway and Russia with the hopes of seeing the Northern Lights. However, Dean Mason assures us that this is not a goodbye! She intends to stop by the college from time-to-time and will be participating in the COP’s Safe Medication Disposal Event taking place on April 7th.
We’re so thankful for Dean Mason’s service and wish her the best of luck as she embarks on the next chapter of her life!
