Associate Dean James Stevenson has accepted a new role as President of Hospital and Health Services for Visante, Inc. and Visante LTD

Associate Dean James Stevenson, currently the Chief Pharmacy Officer in the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, and Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, and Associate Dean for Clinical Sciences at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, will be embarking on a new professional opportunity.

Dr. Stevenson has accepted a new role as President of Hospital and Health Services for Visante, Inc. and Visante LTD – companies that provide pharmacy and managed care consulting services in the US and internationally.  

“I am very excited for this opportunity. This new position will provide me an opportunity to positively impact the practice of pharmacy in many organizations, both here and abroad,” states Dr. Stevenson.

Dr. Stevenson’s new position with begin on August 1, 2014, but will be at the College to ensure the transition occurs as smoothly as possible.

“Jim’s accomplishments while at the University of Michigan have been extraordinary and have resulted in numerous accolades for him, as well as for us,” ends Dean Frank Ascione.

“During the past 15 years I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with outstanding faculty and staff, pharmacists, residents, fellows, technicians and students, as well as with healthcare professionals in other fields.  I’m enormously proud of the advances in pharmacy practice, medication use and safety, informatics and technology, residency training, and pharmacy education that we have been able to accomplish together.  I can’t thank each of you enough for the privilege to have had the opportunity to work with you in this capacity.   I am very proud of the programs we have built and the national recognition we have been able to bring to our health system, college, and university,” ends Dr. Stevenson.

We’d like to extend sincere congratulations to Dr. Stevenson for his devotion to the College of Pharmacy, the UMHHC, and on his wonderful success during his amazing career at the University of Michigan.
