Dr. Wei Cheng Lab Develops Tools Using Optical Tweezers to Identify the Individuality of HIV
Dr. Wei Cheng, the Ara G. Paul Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, is the principal investigator in a University of Michigan study thought to be the first in which researchers were able to capture HIV at the single-particle level and measure with molecular resolutions.

Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity to Host Founders’ Day
The Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity will be hosting a Founders' Day event on November 2, 2014. This event is open to all alumni brothers of Phi Delta Chi to cheer on the Maize and Blue and reminisce about the early beginnings and current happenings of the fraternity.
Graduate Students Form New Student Organization
The College of Pharmacy Graduate Student Organization (COPGSO) was formed in March 2014 not only to represent graduate students at the College, but also to provide a forum for fostering interdepartmental scientific discussions within the College.
Experience the Rho Chi Shadow Program
The Rho Chi Shadow Program was established in 2013 by the Rho Chi Honor Society to promote career exploration and foster professional networking by offering P1, P2, and P3 students a one day shadow experience in their area of interest. Thanks to our dedicated alumni and preceptors, students may explore numerous pharmacy practice settings ranging from community pharmacy to clinical pharmacy to nontraditional pharmacy.

Dr. Hae Mi Choe has been selected to receive the APhA Foundation’s 2014 Pinnacle Award in the Individual Career Achievement (Category I).

Alumni & Friends Hit the Course at the 13th Annual Golf Scramble
On Tuesday June 10th, the Alumni Board of Governors hosted its 13th annual Alumni & Friends Golf Scramble. Unlike previous years, this year’s event was located at a new venue - The Polo Fields Washtenaw Golf Course. Alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends enjoyed an outdoor grilled lunch buffet, putting contest, served dinner following play, as well as a gorgeous day on the course.

Dissolution Conference Sets Tone and Direction for the Development of In Vivo Predictive Dissolution Methodologies
In August, the College hosted its first annual In Vivo Predictive Dissolution Conference, bringing together experts from around the globe with representatives from academia, industry, and government in the fields of clinical science, engineering and basic science. This wide-ranging group of thought leaders presented on the state of current research in biopredictive dissolution science and methodology.

In the June 26, 2014 issue of Nature, Dr. David Sherman, and collaborators have taken a major stride forward in understanding how the biochemical ‘machinery’ in microbes containing the step-by-step blueprints for natural product synthesis is operating.
