Our inaugural speaker will be James T. Dalton, PhD, the newly appointed Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan. Dr. Dalton's talk is titled "Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs) for Muscle Wasting in Cancer: Bench to Bedside."  

Dr. Dalton is the former Chief Scientific Officer and Vice-President of Preclinical Research and Development at GTx, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company in Memphis, TN. His former academic appointments include the Kimberly Professor and Chair, Division of Pharmaceutics in the College of Pharmacy at The Ohio State University and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Tennessee. Dr. Dalton's past research experiences cover a wide span of pharmaceutical disciplines including structure-activity relationships for ligand-binding of human androgen receptors (AR), molecular and preclinical pharmacology of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs), preclinical and clinical pharmacokinetics, and animal models of disease and will be sharing some of these research interests.
