Letter from the Dean

Dear Friends,

I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season and are looking forward to a great 2016! We closed 2015 with the sad news of the passing of a highly respected and beloved member of the College family. We lost Dean Valener Perry in December - more information about Valener's passing is included in this issue.

There are two groups especially excited to reach 2016: our current P4s and our final-year PhD candidates. These students are undoubtedly looking forward to commencement and moving on to the next stage in their careers as health professionals, researchers, faculty, or any of hundreds of career options. The competition for jobs, residencies, and postdoctoral fellowships is intense, but Michigan graduates have always fared well. One of the major factors contributing to the success of our graduates is the network of Wolverine alumni and friends across the nation. If you are going to be hiring this year, take a look at our graduates.
