Letter from the Dean
Dear Friends,
I’m happy to share this summer’s edition of eInteractions with you. The summer is a great time to reflect on the last academic year, prepare for the arrival of new pharmacy students and graduate students, and switch into vacation mode when possible. I’m sure that the NAPLEX exam is at the forefront of the mind for graduates from the Class of 2016, while we are only a few weeks away from welcoming the Class of 2020 and kickoff of the football season. We are also excited to be welcoming 10 new graduate students into our graduate programs in pharmaceutical sciences and medicinal chemistry before the summer draws to a close. As the stories below will attest, it was another outstanding year for the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the College. New grants, prestigious awards, and exciting beginnings are included among the stories. Watching my own family struggle with the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease, I was particularly moved by the story of a Florida alumnus’ experience with a patient and his M Pharmacy pin. I hope that you enjoy it too. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
