December 2016

Welcome to the year-end issue of eInteractions!  The holiday season is always filled with celebrations and faculty, staff, students and alumni gave us plenty of reason to celebrate in 2016. College faculty had their best year ever in research funding.  Staff received some of our university's highest awards.  Graduates from our PhD and PharmD programs found great jobs and residencies (highest national rate), while alumni and friends supported new professorships, fellowships, scholarships and research endowments.  The year was marked with some sad news as well as the College mourned the loss of Professor and Dean Emeritus Jim Richards and alumnus Charles 'Cork' Walgreen. Please enjoy this issue's stories on student experiences in China, recent grant successes, alumni efforts towards education of nontraditional career paths, and more. The holiday season is also a time for giving.  Please consider joining the many alumni and friends who have already made contributions to support our students and College in 2016.  Enjoy the holidays, stay warm, and Go Blue!
