Any pharmacy student can join! Pharmacy Student Ambassadors is composed of four main branches:

  • Admissions Operations
  • Communications
  • External Affairs
  • Local Affairs
Members have opportunities to get involved in all branches.

Ambassadors provide outreach to prospective students and various pre-pharmacy student organizations throughout the year.
To become involved in one of these initiatives or to start one at your undergraduate school, contact the leadership team!

There are a number of components of this branch including:

University of Michigan Campus Outreach:
Coordinators organize events and resources for the UM's Pre-Pharmacy Student Organization (PPSO).
Events include mock interviews, pharmacy student panels, mentorship program, case study events and much more!

Preferred Admit Student Outreach:
UM College of Pharmacy has a Preferred Admit (PA) Program for UM students to enter when they start undergraduate studies. A group of pharmacy students who were previously PA students create bimonthly newletters to help current PA students on their way to pharmacy school.
There is also a PharmD and pharmacy student shadow program and mentorship program in place

Pre-Pharmacy Organization Outreach:
Liaisons bridge the gap between the UM College of Pharmacy and Pre-Pharmacy Organizations around Michigan and out of state.
We have connections to 19 organizations around the country and we're constantly wanting to expand!

Admissions

Each semester the Pharmacy Student Ambassadors (PSA) recruits individuals who would like to be involved with prospective students and the admissions process.

There are four ways you can be involved with admissions:

  1. Be an email contact: Get paired with a student a week prior to their interview at UM CoP and email them to address questions, concerns and provide advice. Be one of the first people to congratulate newly accepted students on their admission to the UM CoP!
  2. Conduct admissions interviews: Participate in admissions interviews with a faculty or staff member.
  3. Attend lunch: Have lunch at Pizza House with the interviewees.
  4. University of Michigan Hospital Tours: This is the newest addition to the interview day. P4 students and Michigan Medicine interns bring candidates to various pharmacies in the hospital and describe the role of a pharmacy student in the health system.
