The goal of the Luzum lab is to develop personalized treatment approaches for cardiovascular disease and translate them into clinical practice to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Our research spans the translational spectrum from discovery through clinical implementation. We identify clinical, genetic, and kinetic predictors of cardiovascular disease treatment efficacy and/or toxicity in retrospective correlative analyses. Those discoveries are then integrated into novel tools that inform treatment decisions for the individual patient. Those tools can then be tested in prospective clinical trials to demonstrate that personalized cardiovascular treatment enhances efficacy and/or prevents unnecessary toxicity.
