Dr. Jeong Park Receives ACCP Transplant PRN Mentor Award

The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy is proud to announce that Clinical Professor Jeong M. Park, PharmD, MS, BCTXP, FCCP, FAST received the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Transplant Practice and Research Network (PRN) Mentor Award.

This award honors an active Transplant PRN member whose outstanding teaching and life-changing guidance inspires students, residents, fellows and others in the profession of pharmacy. Dr. Park was nominated by her mentees and received the award at the ACCP annual meeting in Phoenix on October 14, 2024.

According to the ACCP, the ideal mentor is forthright, supportive, provides constructive criticism and demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching.

As a transplant clinical specialist at the University of Michigan Health, Dr. Park is an integral member of the transplant team. Dr. Park participates in interdisciplinary care of kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. With her pharmacy team, she has developed and implemented various transplant practice guidelines and innovative pharmacy services.

Her research interests include the pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics of immunosuppressive medications and optimizing pharmacotherapy to manage post-transplant complications as well as Interprofessional collaboration and education.

She is strongly committed to the education and training of students, residents, and new practitioners from multiple disciplines.”I have had wonderful mentors of my own along the way. Their guidance, resources, emotional support, and role modeling were instrumental in my growth as a pharmacist, researcher and teacher. Mentorship is a way we can pay it forward in supporting the future. I am delighted to have been nominated by my mentees and honored to receive this award from ACCP.”
