College of Pharmacy Hosts 32nd Annual MLK Health Sciences Events

On January 17, the College of Pharmacy and the Martin Luther King Jr. Health Sciences Committee presented the 2022 MLK Health Sciences Lecture, entitled: “This is America: Confronting Health Inequities…Writing Prescriptions for Change.” The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Lakesha Butler, PharmD.

Dr. Butler is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. She is also the CEO and Founder of Dr. Lakesha Butler, LLC, a consulting agency whose mission is to disrupt and dismantle inequities and injustices in healthcare and higher education. 

The lecture was hosted by Cherie Dotson, PhD, Student Affairs Program Manager for Graduate Student Recruitment and Outreach. Watch a recording of the lecture below.
