Marini hopes that, as an educator, whether that be through his work in Common Sense Oncology, behind the microphone of his popular podcast or with his students at Michigan Medicine, he is making a splash in making oncology care more patient-centered and accessible to all.

“There’s never a wrong time to go back to school, whether it’s right away or a few years into your career when you have figured out what you want to focus on. Sometimes it’s better than rushing and realizing that’s not what you wanted to do.”

Dr. Kristen will bring her “Go Blue” spirit to the stage of PharmD Commencement as the keynote speaker – something she considers a great honor.

When it comes to pharmacy, Michelle Azar, PharmD ’21, is sure about one thing: Your path can change, and there are limitless avenues you can take with a PharmD.

 “I never dreaded getting up and going to work. I loved what I did. When things changed, I looked at it as an opportunity or a challenge.”

It was the interpersonal connection and an interest in the ever-changing landscape of oncology that piqued Dr. Hough’s interest. 

His ability to understand each new pharmaceutical is a skill he developed during his time in U-M’s PharmD program – where the curriculum focuses on problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, research and the utilization of skills to practice as a pharmacist in any setting.

Devyani Bhatnagar, MS, combined her passions for pharmacy and health economics by pursuing a Masters of Science in Integrated Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she crafted a personalized academic path and conducted impactful research on opioid use.

Their story starts far before they were hailing “Go Blue” at the Big House and staying up late to cram for their medicinal chemistry final in PharmD school.
