Exploring Careers in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Healthcare (1 credit)

This seminar course will give students the opportunity to explore careers in the healthcare and drug development industries. Students will shadow practitioners in these fields while they receive an introduction to medical terminology.  


Pharmacy 212

Contemporary Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences (1 credit)

Are you curious about the development of life-saving drugs and the groundbreaking innovations that power the pharmaceutical industry? This course is your passport to the dynamic world of pharmaceutical science. Hearing from a diverse group of speakers from academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and government agencies will ignite your curiosity, inspire your career aspirations, and connect you to experts at the forefront of scientific discovery.  


Pharmacy 217

Introduction to Precision Health (1 credit)

Lecture series focusing on how we make informed clinical decisions for the delivery of treatment and interventions based on an individual’s anticipated response.


Pharmacy 302

Developing Your Professional Self (1 credit)

Students will investigate what professional path they are on - through self-inventory, they will work on developing the skills they need to achieve their professional goals. Skills to be explored include written/verbal communication, leadership/followership, networking, and professional workplace etiquette.  


Pharmacy 412

Clinical and Research Ethics (1 credit)

This course will cover three main topics: 1) discuss historical events that have shaped current standards of biomedical ethics, 2) survey topics related to laboratory, animal, and clinical research ethics, and 3) discuss current events and debates regarding ethical issues faced in the practice of clinical medicine.  


Pharmaceutical Sciences 402

Undergraduate Seminar (1 credit taken two times)

Students will be exposed to the wide range of contemporary research in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, and clinical pharmacy by attending scientific seminars of their choosing. Presenters will be University of Michigan or invited scientists and graduate students primarily from the College of Pharmacy.
