[Ann Arbor, Michigan] — The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy is excited to announce that Cecret Tacker, PharmD ‘00, a Pharmacy Specialist at Ascension Providence Hospital, has been awarded Preceptor of the Year.
Preceptors play a crucial role in mentoring PharmD students throughout their rotations – providing real-life, hands-on experiences in health systems. Tacker has been a preceptor for students in the U-M College of Pharmacy for ten years.
As she remarked in her recent LinkedIn post, “Mentoring students is an important investment in the well-being of our community,” Precepting not only reinforces what our students have learned in their didactic studies but also expands their knowledge of the challenges seen in real-world medication management. It’s great to be involved in the education of this next generation.”
Tacker earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and went on to earn her PharmD from the College of Pharmacy.
In addition to her role at Ascension, Tacker serves as the Chair for the regional Pain Advisory Group leading initiatives to improve pain management and reduce opioid use disorder in southeast Michigan.
Congratulations Dr. Tacker on this honor.
