Firstly, we are so excited that you have decided to apply for a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. We are confident this program will set you up for success – whether you have career aspirations in the healthcare field or scientific research. Our application process is simple, and we want to walk you through each step.

 

How to Apply

The application process for this program is managed by the U-M Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This office can answer any questions you have about the status of your application and if there are any necessary next steps after you submit it.

As a first-year applicant, you will apply using the Common Application found here.

 

What To Expect on the Application 

When you fill out the Common Application, you will be asked to provide:

  • $75 application fee payment
  • High School Transcript
  • School Report (Academic History)
  • One Teacher Evaluation (core academic teacher or other non-relative who can speak directly to the student’s academic aptitude, potential and classroom performance)
  • SAT or ACT score (if available and if you wish for them to be considered)
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or MET scores (for non-native speakers of English)
  • Official college transcripts

As a cross-campus transfer applicant, you will apply using the Cross-Campus Transfer Application Form found here.

 

What To Expect on the Application 

  • U-M Transcript, which will be added to your file by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Official transcripts from other institutions, if applicable (email or mail directly to Office of Undergraduate Admissions)
  • One letter of recommendation sent in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature directly to Office of Undergraduate Admissions (address below) or emailed directly from the recommender to [email protected]
  • Two Essays:
    • Essay 1: Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by (among other things) shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong; describe that community and your place within it. (completed online – 250 words)
    • Essay 2: Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the College of Pharmacy. How does the BSPS curriculum support your interests? (completed online – 500 word maximum)
  • Resume or CV (completed online)

The two essays and your resume will be uploaded to the Cross Campus Application form. If you have additional information you would like to share with the admissions committee, please email documents to [email protected].

    • Transfer applicants are also instructed to provide a statement that addresses their reasons for transferring and the objectives they hope to achieve (completed online)
  • Resume or CV (mail directly to Office of Undergraduate Admissions – address below)
  • SAT or ACT scores (if taken in high school). Send test scores directly to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor: SAT code is 1839; ACT code is 2062.
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or MET scores (for non-native speakers of English)
