Role Overview and Bio
Dr. Phan is an nationally recognized leader in pediatric pharmacy practice, education, and research. Throughout her career, Dr. Phan has has developed and implemented innovative clinical pharmacy practice models in ambulatory care, specifically those in pulmonology, such as those in pediatric cystic fibrosis (CF), pediatric severe asthma and adult CF. In her role as Director of Experiential Education, Dr. Phan and the team from Office of Experiential Education oversee, coordinate, and support the various experiential experiences, including Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), which are a core component of the curriculum in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Dr. Phan is also Faculty Affiliate and Faculty Executive Representative for the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Phan received her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Michigan and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Pharmacotherapy at The Ohio State University. Prior to to her return to the University of Michigan, Dr. Phan served as faculty at the University of Arizona Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine as well as Associate Research Scientist at the UA Asthma and Airway Disease Research Center for over 10 years.
