Summary
Shelly (Michelle) Hawkins, BBA
My 25 year career at the University, in various levels of financial rolls, started at the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, in January, 1999. From there I spent more than 4 years in Medical School Administration, Finance, working for the Deans office on various financial and capital projects (Cardiology Center, Kellogg Eye Center, BMT floor expansions, new Mott Women's and Children's Hospital, etc.). I found a part time job in finance, so I could spend more time with my 3 children and try to balance work-life. I spent 10 years in Internal Medicine's Allergy and Immunology division. I worked for various Internal Medicine departments in addition to my regular appointment during that time. Ive been on many pilot projects for the University to roll new ideas/software out. I have been full time again, and career focused, for about 8 years. I worked in the Health Management Research Center, in the School of Kinesiology, for 3 years, helped to decommision the Center in an overload capacity at the end. I've worked in the largest Division, Hematology/Oncology in the Medical School. I helped streamline many processes and took on many new roles, training administrative staff, mentoring new post award staff, piloting with our central procurement office, before leaving pre/post-award Research Administration to come to the College of Pharmacy.
I curently work with Meegan Novara on the Accounting/Finance related roles for the college. Please see current position for more details.
