Michelle (Shelly) Hawkins, BA
My 24 year plus career at the University in various financial rolls started at the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, in January, 1999. From there I spent more than 4 years in Medical School Administration, working in the Deans office on various financial and capital projects (Cardiology Center, Kellogg Eye Center, BMT floor expansions, Mott Woment's and Children's Hospital, ect.). I found a part time finance job, so I could spend more time with my children, and spent almost 10 years in Allergy and Immunology. I worked for various Internal Medicine departments in addition to my regular part time appointment during that time when people reached out and needed financial help. I started full time again about 7 years ago. I worked in the Health Management Research Center for 3 years and even helped to Decommision the Center in overload capacity, when they closed it. My last Internal Medicine position, was in Hematology Oncology, the largest Internal Medicine Division, I helped streamline many processes and took on many new roles for my position before leaving pre/post-award Research Administration to come to the College of Pharmacy.
Overall Role
Assist with the functions of financial reporting, monitoring, budgeting, and internal controls processes.
