PharmBash, an annual dinner and dance open to all at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, was held on January 31, 2015 at Polo Fields Golf and Country Club. Approximately 170 students, faculty, and staff attended this event organized by the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists.

The theme this year was “Mystery, Suspense, & PharmBash”. In the weeks leading up to the event, videos depicting two unidentified students “killing” the beloved Dr. Mustapha Beleh, Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry, and Dean Jim Dalton were emailed to the College. In the event program, mugshots showed the suspects, and attendees were able to buy extra clues to help solve the mystery. Throughout dinner, guests submitted their guesses as to the identity of the killers, with the hopes of winning a reimbursement for their ticket. Ultimately, Stephanie Hamel, PharmD ’16, solved the crime.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed visiting with friends, colleagues, and faculty, a delightful three course meal, and dancing until late in the evening. The photo booth was, as always, a major success, with students and faculty alike showing off their sillier sides in Hulk hands and oversized sunglasses. Attendees also enjoyed taking their own mugshots in front of the line up backdrop with the help of a professional photographer.

“As with any other year, it was an evening of food, finery and festivities, an event whose success could be visibly measured by the number of attendees who stayed to dance until the small hours of the morning,” states Connor Luczak, PharmD’16
