Dr. Luzum graduated with her PharmD summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 2008.
Dr. Luzum's acceptance speech focused on the importance of mentoring PharmD students. She emphasized, "this award recognizes not only the faculty at Pitt Pharmacy, but also all of you alumni... I urge you to keep serving as mentors... because you never know when even a small gesture could create the next Rising Star."
Dr. Luzum attributes the start of her path towards a research career to the research experiences and mentorship that she received during her education.
