The courses described in this section are required or elective in the various College of Pharmacy curricula. For descriptions of additional courses that may be elected with approval of a student advisor, see the Bulletin of the College of Literature, Science and the Arts or the bulletins of other schools in the University. The University year is composed of terms, and credits are granted in semester hours credit. The numbering system for College of Pharmacy courses generally adheres to the following logic:
400-499: intermediate courses for undergraduate and professional degree students 500-699: advanced courses for undergraduate and professional degree students or introductory courses for graduate students 700-799: advanced courses for graduate students 800-899: seminar courses for graduate students 900-999: research courses for graduate students Bachelor's degree candidates and special students who wish to elect courses numbered 600 and above must first get permission from the instructor. Prerequisites appear in italics following the course title. Roman numerals following a course title or prerequisite indicate the term in which the course is given: I = Fall Term; II = Winter Term; III = Spring-Summer Term; IIIa = Spring Half-Term; IIIb = Summer Half-Term. Courses in the College of Pharmacy which are designated only I, II, or I and II may be offered in terms III, IIIa, or IIIb if there is sufficient demand. The number within parentheses indicates the semester hours credit for the course (e.g., (3) means three semester hours credit).
